In the past few years, organizations have reduced staff and increased performance expectations for the remaining employees. many people seem over-worked, underappreciated, exhausted, and burned out.. Recovering from burnout. burnout doesn't go away on its own; rather, it will get worse unless you address the underlying issues causing it. if you ignore burnout, it will only cause you further harm down the line, so it's important that you begin recovery as soon as possible.. Recovering from burnout exactly one year ago, i sat alone in the stairwell at my office, and i cried. while that period of my life is a bit of a blur, i remember that moment distinctly..
